According to Ms. Kong, through OCHCMC, SMU will provide scholarship programs and financial support for Vietnamese people pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies, especially for those who are already doing business or starting a business. Scholarships range in value from 5,000 SGD (93 million VND) to full with monthly allowance, with approval criteria based on the candidate’s academic achievements or family background.

To apply to SMU, at the bachelor’s level, candidates need to have good academic records and an English certificate of IELTS 7.0 or equivalent. Meanwhile, at the master’s and doctoral levels, in addition to bachelor’s transcript scores and IELTS 6.5, candidates need additional GMAT or GRE scores, which are popular competency assessment tests in the US. Self-funded tuition at the school ranges from 44,950 – 47,510 SGD/year depending on the field (837 – 885 million VND).
