At noon on April 26, Lai Chau Provincial Police said the unit was coordinating with other units to investigate the cause of “the murder of a mother and her lover due to a conflict and then suicide but failed”.
Accordingly, around 5:30 a.m. this morning, April 26, Sung Phai Commune Police received news that a murder had occurred at the family of Ms. Sung Thi Ch., (66 years old, in Sung Phai Commune, Lai Chau City).
During the investigation, the police initially determined that Hang A Ho (42 years old, living in the same Sung Phai commune) had a romantic relationship with Ms. Giang Thi L..
This morning, when Ho came home, he was scolded by his lover’s mother. Ho ran into the street to control her, stole knives from people working in the fields, then entered the house and stabbed Mrs. Ch to death. and Ms. L..
After that, Ho locked the door, barricaded himself in the house, used a knife to stab himself multiple times in the stomach.
Immediately afterwards, the police force arrived at the scene, broke down the door, controlled Ho, confiscated the knife and took him to the emergency room at Lai Chau Provincial General Hospital.

Ms. Sung Thi Thai (Mrs. Ch.’s niece) said that Ms. L.’s husband died a few years ago, and Hang A Ho’s wife also left China for many years and did not return. A relationship arose between Ho and Ms. L. love for more than 2 years now.
However, conflicts often arose between the two, and each time, Ho used a knife to threaten to kill the whole family.
Therefore, Ms. Ch. does not want Ms. L. to continue her relationship with Hang A Ho.
This morning, Colonel Tao Van Truong – deputy director of Lai Chau Provincial Police – arrived at the scene to direct the resolution of the case.
At the same time, they encouraged, condolences and gave 5 million VND to each victim’s family to support each victim’s family.
