According to the document, on April 23, 2024, MHM reporter (working at VnExpress Electronic Newspaper) is currently a member of the Vietnam Journalists Association and NVC reporter (working at VTV Times under Vietnam Television Station) while working. Working at the scene to provide information and images of the fire in Viet Yen village, Ngu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi city.

However, while working, the reporter was suddenly chased by three subjects, kicked, punched, kicked, snatched, and thrown his phone, causing the reporter to suffer injuries to his head, temple, left wrist, and right hand causing bleeding. blood.

The Vietnam Journalists Association believes that this is a hooligan act by a group of subjects that has caused confusion and frustration among the public opinion of its members and journalists.

To protect the legal right to practice and the honor and dignity of journalists, the Vietnam Journalists Association requests agencies to continue to urge and direct authorities to investigate, clarify, and strictly handle those involved. assaulting journalists, seriously violating the Press Law and ensuring favorable and safe conditions for reporters of press agencies when working in the city.

As Lao Dong reported, on the morning of April 26, Thanh Tri District Police invited a reporter to the roadside area of ​​Viet Yen village, Ngu Hiep commune – where the assault occurred, to consolidate their records (a reporter was hospital treatment).

During the investigation, Thanh Tri District Police summoned two related subjects, Do Manh Hoang and Tran Van Duc (both born in 1978, in Ngu Hiep commune), and continued to verify and summon the suspects. Related subjects, consolidate records and documents for strict handling according to law.
