On April 26, the Provincial Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province held a meeting to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national unification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2024). ).

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign to liberate the South and unify the land. water.

Implementing the direction of the Central Committee of the Southern Department and the Party Committee of Zone 9, the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee directly led the army and people of the province to urgently prepare for the general attack – general uprising. The general attack and general uprising took place fiercely everywhere in the province. Many districts were liberated on April 30, 1975 and in the early morning of May 1, 1975, Soc Trang province was completely liberated.
