The program “Lighting lamps at sea with fishermen” was organized by Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper in collaboration with Thanh Hoa province on the afternoon of April 26.
According to the organizers, the program aims to support, encourage, and accompany fishermen; stand side by side with the Government and local authorities to find solutions to remove the IUU yellow card for Vietnam’s seafood industry.
Within the framework of the program, fishermen in Thanh Hoa coastal areas participated in the discussion program “Do your best to remove the “yellow card” for Vietnamese seafood”, with the participation of leaders of Thanh Hoa province and ministries and branches. relevant and leading experts in this field.
At the same time, experts and local authorities also organize propaganda and awareness raising so that fishermen comply with laws and regulations when fishing and exploiting at sea, towards an action plan to solve the problem. IUU “yellow card” that the Prime Minister issued.
Within the framework of the program, the organizing committee awarded 200 gifts to fishermen (each gift worth more than 5 million VND), including batteries, light bulbs, medicine bags, handbooks “Things to know about fishing”. seafood” and a voucher worth 1 million VND.
In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 25 scholarships, each worth more than 2 million VND, to students in coastal and coastal communes; 1 scholarship worth 10 million VND for 1 student in difficult circumstances with the highest English score.
