On April 26, the Department of Tourism of Quang Binh province confirmed that a new cave with a beautiful stalactite system was discovered by a unit specializing in exploiting cave tourism in Sat village, Truong Son commune.

Previously, this unit coordinated with the Community Forest Management Board of Sat village, Truong Son commune to conduct a survey and discovered a new cave in Sat village and named it Lu cave.

This new cave is 2 km long, the cave entrance is 8m high, 9m wide, has 4 cave branches with 100m of dry cave, the rest is water cave. The highest place inside the cave is about 35m, with an underground river system.

The special thing about Lu cave is the stalactite system inside the cave. Accordingly, through the accumulation process, layers of stalactites have formed in the cave like giant interconnected curtains.

After the discovery, this unit reported to the competent authorities and requested relevant departments and branches to form a survey and evaluation team on this newly discovered cave.

Mr. Hoang Trong Duc, Chairman of Truong Son Commune People’s Committee, said that the commune will organize a survey and verification trip to have a specific report on the location of the cave in which area in the natural forest, and who belongs to this forest area. management and protection. After the survey, there will be a basis to report and propose tourism development plans (if any) to superiors.

“Truong Son commune has potential for tourism development, so the discovery of this cave is very meaningful. If this cave is located in a forest area managed by any unit, the forest owner must have a report, development direction and must put it into management,” Mr. Duc added.

Previously, another cave also with shimmering and magical beauty was recently discovered in Truong Son commune, Son Nu cave.

These two caves are a few kilometers apart and are both considered landmark discoveries for Quang Binh’s cave system.
