(PLVN) – While digging a ditch in Vinh city (Nghe An), a group of workers discovered a bomb weighing 340 kg.

On April 26, information from the authorities of Truong Thi ward, Vinh city, Nghe An said that a bomb had just been discovered during the construction of ditches in the area.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of April 25, a group of workers using a excavator to build a drainage ditch system across Dinh Bat Tuy Street, Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City, scooped up a metal object.

When checking, workers found a bomb underneath that was 1.1m long and 41cm in diameter with the detonator and tail fin still intact.

The scene was then sealed off, and public announcements were made to avoid large gatherings in the area and to contact military units in the area for handling. It is known that Truong Thi ward is a ward in the city center, where many departments are headquartered and the traffic is very large.

It is known that the bomb was determined to weigh about 340 kg, suspected to be left over from the war.

The military command of Truong Thi ward then blocked the scene, not allowing people to get close to ensure safety and dug up the bomb for disposal.
