On the evening of June 26, information from the Ministry of Education and Training said that the Minister of Education and Training issued Decision 1279/QD-BGDDT appointing Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, Editor-in-Chief of Life and Law Magazine as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Member and General Director of THNN Company, a member of Vietnam Education Publishing House (under the Ministry of Education and Training) from May 15, 2024. The term of office is 5 years.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that the decision was based on the provisions of the 2012 Publishing Law; Enterprise Law 2020; Regulation No. 80-QD/TW dated August 18, 2022 of the Politburo on decentralization of cadre management and appointment and introduction of candidate cadres; Regulation No. 100-QD/TW dated February 28, 2023 of the Secretariat on responsibilities, powers and appointment, dismissal, reward and discipline of publishing house leaders.
The Ministry of Education and Training has also implemented the process of appointing the Chairman of the Board of Members who is also the General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House One Member LLC in accordance with regulations, appraisal documents, and agreements of the Ministry of Education and Training. Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, born in 1968, has more than 20 years of experience working in management at a press agency.
Mr. Thanh’s work history: Reporter for Thanh Nien newspaper (April 1991-March 1996); Deputy editor of Thanh Nien newspaper (March 1996-January 1999); Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Family and Society newspaper (January 1999-November 2001); Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Life and Law newspaper (November 2001-May 2010); Editor-in-Chief of Life and Law newspaper (May 2010-April 2020); Editor-in-chief of Life and Law magazine (April 2020 – to present).
