On the afternoon of April 26, Hanoi FC had a practice session to prepare for the quarter-finals of the 2023-2024 National Cup against Da Nang club, which will take place at 7:15 p.m. on April 28 at Hang Day Stadium.

In the upcoming match, the home team is missing goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan and two strikers Van Tung and Van Truong as these players are playing for the U23 Vietnam team at the 2024 U23 Asian Championship.

On the sidelines of today’s training session, coach Daiki Iwamasa of Hanoi FC had some words shares about Vietnamese football as seen from the 2024 U23 Asian Finals.

“In football, don’t worry too much about the result of the match but look at the style of play and how the players have matured.

As we have seen, U23 Indonesia’s performance at the 2024 U23 Asian Championship is the result of preparation from 2-3, even 10 years ago. The same goes for Vietnamese football. Preparation today will be the foundation for results 10 years later.

I feel that Vietnam needs to make more efforts to develop its football industry.

In Hanoi FC’s recent matches, I tried to limit the use of foreign players and focus on Vietnamese internal soldiers. They have very good technique. If they continue to maintain this style of play, they will contribute a lot to Vietnamese football.

If you focus too much on winning or losing results, we will miss a lot. We need to improve our playing style and take advantage of domestic players and depend less on foreigners. That will gradually change Vietnamese football,” coach Iwamasa said.

Regarding the National Cup quarter-final match against Da Nang on April 28, the Japanese coach affirmed that Hanoi FC will try to improve and absorb their playing style to win against their opponents.
