Training on hospital infection surveillance and guiding the operation of the infection control network

From April 23 to April 25, 2024, Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital organized a training program on hospital infection surveillance and guided the operation of the infection control network.

The program is organized to improve knowledge and practice for medical staff in the hospital’s infection control network, thereby improving the quality of examination and treatment for patients.

Overview of the program

Participating in the program, on the side of the National Children’s Hospital, there were Dr. Le Kien Ngai – Head of the Department of Prevention, Dr. Hoang Thi Bich Ngoc – Head of the Department of Microbiology and Infection Control and staff in the department.

On the side of Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital, there is: BSCKII. Le Na – Deputy Director of the Hospital, Head, Deputy Department and staff at the Department of Infection Control, members of the Hospital Infection Control Network.

Speaking at the training program, BSCKII. Le Na – Deputy Director of the Hospital emphasized the importance of infection control in the hospital and required all hospital officials and employees to seriously study more to limit this situation. On behalf of Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital, BSCKII. Le Na also sent her sincere thanks to the experts of the National Children’s Hospital who came to teach and support the Hospital in implementing infection control activities.

The training program is designed to be diverse, combining theory and practice. After spending time studying in the hall, the students were divided into groups to visit the hospital, survey and provide technical support at the departments.

In the theoretical part, students were introduced to many contents such as: Hospital infections: Challenges and solutions; Principles for handling reused instruments in hospitals; Overview and epidemiology of microorganisms causing hospital infections; Prevention according to transmission route; Instructions for handling and monitoring sharp object accidents and exposure to body fluids; current NKBV prevention packages; Medical waste management, linen management, Hand hygiene and methods of monitoring hand hygiene compliance, Monitoring infection prevention packages, routine hygiene, hospital waste, hospital environment…

After 3 days of serious and focused learning, the students were given a test to evaluate their knowledge and awareness of hospital infection control. As a result, 100% of students completed the tests. The organizing committee awarded gifts to 10 students with the highest results.

With the enthusiasm and dedication of the lecturers and the serious learning spirit and responsibility of the students, the training class was completed with good results, ensuring the set goals of knowledge and skills according to the Law. request.

After the training program, the hospital infection control staff of Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital had a deeper understanding of infection control in the hospital, thereby strengthening close coordination between departments. , room with the Infection Control Department, enhances the operational quality of the infection control network to achieve better results.
