The driver mistakenly stepped on the car accelerator, causing an accident at the gas station

On April 26, the leader of Cao Lanh City Police (Dong Thap) said that the unit was verifying and clarifying the accident caused by a car at Tan Hoa gas station on Pham Huu Lau street, cluster 3, Ward 6, Cao Lanh City.

The accident took less than 30 seconds and was recorded by a camera at the gas station. Accordingly, at about 7:38 a.m. on the same day, after refueling the BS 66A-032.54 car, the driver backed up and suddenly the car accelerated, rushed out onto Pham Huu Lau street, ran to the opposite side of the road and then circled back to the gas station where the car had just refueled at breakneck speed.

While this vehicle was moving to Pham Huu Lau street and turning around, it knocked off the plastic table in front of the sidewalk, collided with motorbike 66L5-393.X, then turned back into the gas station and collided with 2 BS motorbikes. 66F2-048.XX and 66P1-048.XX were waiting to refuel, then knocked down a gas pump before stopping.

When detecting an unusual phenomenon from the car, the gas station employee shouted loudly for many people to avoid it. However, two people were still hit by an oncoming car, causing them to fall.

After the accident, Cao Lanh City Police came to examine the scene and verify the cause. Accordingly, the driver is Mr. Nguyen Duong Hoang (66 years old, living in Ward 1, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap). Reporting to the police, Mr. Hoang said that because he mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal while moving the car out of the gas station, the accident occurred.

As a result, the accident left 2 motorcyclists with minor injuries, the front of the car was damaged, 3 motorbikes and 1 gas pump were damaged. Estimated property damage is about 70 million VND.
