On April 26, Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that the Department has just completed approving the enrollment plan for the 2024 – 2025 school year for 21 districts, cities and towns. In particular, special attention should be paid to increasing targets and increasing classes for public high schools in the area.

Vinh City is the locality with the largest number of students in the province with more than 6,000 students, an increase of more than 700 students compared to the previous school year. With the newly approved plan, this year, 3 high schools in Vinh city, Huynh Thuc Khang High School, Le Viet Thuat High School and Ha Huy Tap High School, will each add 3 public classes. Thus, the target for public schools is 18 classes (45 students per class) and the total target for schools in the 2024 – 2025 school year is 810 students.

In addition, Huynh Thuc Khang High School will have an additional quota of 5 classes according to the advanced system. Ha Huy Tap High School and Le Viet Thuat High School will also have 2 classes under this system.

In addition, some schools near Vinh city will also increase their targets. Specifically, Nghi Loc 3 High School (Nghi Loc district) will increase 1 class with 45 quotas. In Hung Nguyen district, two schools, Pham Hong Thai High School and Le Hong Phong High School, have also had their quota increased from 45 to 48 students/class. Particularly, Pham Hong Thai High School also added 1 class.

After approving the enrollment plan, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training will continue to submit it to the Department of Home Affairs for review, adjustment and balance based on the size of the teaching staff in schools and localities. The final plan will be approved by Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee and is expected to be issued in June.

However, immediately after the plan approval by the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has been completed, public high schools in the area can announce their targets for the next school year and their enrollment plans.

In early May 2024, 9th grade students across Nghe An province will register for admission online.
