On the evening of April 26, the Central Youth Union coordinated with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and Dien Bien province to organize an art program with the theme “Dien Bien Phu – River aspirations”; summarizing and awarding prizes to the competition to learn about the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam; launched a competition to learn about the traditions “80 years of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army and 35 years of the National Defense Festival”.

Speaking at the program, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee Doan Bui Quang Huy emphasized: The famous Dien Bien Phu victory in five continents, shaking the earth forever, is a brilliant milestone in history and pride of the Vietnamese people, is a spiritual strength, a great source of support and encouragement, leaving many valuable lessons for the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, especially for the Vietnamese people. today’s generation in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, unions at all levels across the country have organized many exciting and meaningful programs and activities. In particular, from April 24 to 26, the Central Youth Union, the Central Vietnam Youth Union, the Central Vietnam Student Association, and the Central Youth Council organized journeys to the source.

At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 70 gifts to wounded and sick soldiers; former soldiers, former youth volunteers of Dien Bien; children in difficult circumstances.

Along with special art performances, there will be exchanges between former soldiers, former Dien Bien youth volunteers and representatives of the younger generation. Through the characters’ accounts of authentic stories, it is affirmed that the Dien Bien Phu Victory is a great victory for our people.

Also at the program, the Central Youth Union and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army awarded prizes to a contest to learn about the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement. With the theme “Dien Bien Phu – River aspirations”, the contest was launched in December 2023 and had nearly 1 million works and articles from authors nationwide submitted to the contest; Nearly 2.2 million union members, youth and people participated in the online exam.

After appraisal, the Organizing Committee decided to reward 71 authors, groups of authors and outstanding collectives in implementing the contest, including 1 special prize; 5 A prizes; 15 B awards; 20 C awards; 30 Consolation prizes for authors and author groups; 5 collective prizes for 5 provincial units with the most entries. Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi city is honored to be one of the 5 provincial units with the most entries.
