Tens of thousands of people flock to the world heritage site to attend the Trang An festival

On April 26, Trang An festival with the theme “About Trang An heritage region” took place at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex – World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The unique cultural event in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu has attracted tens of thousands of people and tourists from all over.

This year’s festival takes place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The Festival Organizing Committee has created a colorful cultural space, bringing together various types of domestic heritage to exchange.

This is an opportunity for Vietnam to promote and introduce traditional, colorful cultural features with bold characteristics of the regions to international tourists.

The representative of the Trang An Festival Organizing Committee said that the Trang An Festival represents the unique cultural beliefs of the people of Ninh Binh, in order to commemorate and pay tribute to His Holiness Quy Minh Dai Vuong – who has contributed to the dedicated to preserving the country, thank you for your kindness that has supported and helped the people have good weather and wind, and live a prosperous and happy life.

Attending the festival, Ms. Simona Mirela Miculescu, President of the 42nd UNESCO General Conference, along with people and tourists, immersed themselves in the colorful cultural space of Vietnam.

According to legend, Thanh Quy Minh Dai Vuong was one of three brothers – three generals who were canonized as saints (Tan Vien, Cao Son, Quy Minh), who had the merit of defending Son Nam pass (belonging to Hoa Lu four towns), Protected the country during the 18th Hung King’s reign.

The people of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu are very devoted to Saint Quy Minh. Every year during the festival, they gather in the historical land of Hoa Lu to commemorate his merits.

Attending the festival, tens of thousands of domestic and international tourists crossed more than 5km of waterway, through caves on Sao Khe river (core area of ​​Trang An world heritage) to celebrate dragon procession rituals. , palanquin procession, water procession, and offerings at Suoi Tien temple – the place to worship the Holy King Quy Minh Dai Vuong.

Along both banks of Sao Khe River in Trang An heritage site, 20 real-life stages perform more than 50 types of art from art troupes like quan ho, vi mim, Hue royal court music, Central Highlands gongs, and singing. Xam, Cheo singing, bamboo dance… from provinces and cities in the country, with nearly 600 artisans and artists participating in the performance.

Trang An Festival is an opportunity for everyone to come together and pray for peace in the country and people, good weather, dissipation of epidemics, good crops, and happiness for everyone.
