Thousands of motorbikes blatantly violate the law but most of them are not punished, which is a loophole in the law.

In a job and labor group in Taiwan, a person worriedly posted when he received a motorbike ticket. Immediately, someone shared instructions on how to pay fines directly or transfer money.

I knew about the above incident a few years ago, thought it was quite good and wondered why Vietnam had not applied it until the Transport sector leaders proposed to fine motorbike riders for traffic violations.

When it comes to traffic laws, the issue of fines is always a topic that attracts public attention, especially the difference in fines between motorbikes and cars. Many opinions believe that there is currently injustice in cold punishment.

Car drivers only need to be negligent to be fined. Meanwhile, thousands of motorbikes every day blatantly run red lights, climb sidewalks, and drive in the opposite direction, with almost no sanctions.

If in the past, the number of motorbikes was too large and the police force was not enough to impose fines, now the camera system can completely handle this task. Using high-resolution surveillance cameras, combined with an automatic license plate recognition system, will help minimize errors in recording violations.

Moreover, if the motorbike is officially owned by the owner, as long as there is a photo of the violation, the vehicle owner must be responsible for paying the fine.

Fines for motorbikes not only contribute to raising awareness of traffic law compliance and safety, but also create fairness in responsibilities and obligations among all traffic participants.
