Vietnam has a representative among the top “rising stars” of Edtech in the world

Vietnam’s online education platform VUIHOC has just reached the top 3 in the 2024 “TIME World’s Top EdTech Rising Stars of 2024” ranking by TIME magazine (USA) and research firm. Market research conducted by Statista.

The list of 15 “rising stars” in Edtech (educational technology) was voted based on the following criteria: The company was established less than 10 years ago; Minimum revenue of 1 million USD in 2021; Revenue growth rate is more than 20% in the past 3 years.

It is noteworthy that VUIHOC is the only representative of Southeast Asia on this list. Becoming the sole representative of Southeast Asia is recognition for the tireless efforts of the Vietnamese application development team.

According to VUIHOC representative, the opportunity for the development of the Edtech field is currently very large. The level of parental expectations and willingness to invest in children’s education in Vietnam is quite high, similar to some other Asian countries such as Japan, Korea and China.

“Edtech has become a hot market, in the context that parents and students are gradually moving from a state of “not interested” to “more interested” in online learning. In that context, we aim to create even more positive impacts for Vietnam’s education sector in the next 5 years.“Vuihoc representative said.

Currently, the VUIHOC application has more than 2 million downloads, 300,000 students are studying, with main products including: VUIHOC Duo (Online group class); VUIHOC Tutor (1-on-1 online tutoring class or small group), VUIHOC High School (Comprehensive university exam preparation solution); VUIHOC Station (Direct class model – Online Merge Offline).

In 2023, VUIHOC received an investment of 6 million USD in a Series A funding round led by TNB Aura. This money is used to integrate AI to provide a personalized learning experience, optimized according to each student’s needs.

According to the “Vietnam Technology and Innovation Investment Report 2024”, although the total investment capital for startups in Vietnam in 2023 decreased by 17%, the Edtech sector received the highest amount of capital ever. Up to now, an increase of 107% over the same period last year.
