Industrial development is one of the important goals approved by the Government in the Dak Lak Provincial Planning for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050. Planning for a system of industrial parks (IPs), clusters Industrial sector (CCN) is reasonable in terms of territorial space, exploiting the potential and advantages of the province and ensuring sustainable development.
According to the industrial park system development plan, Dak Lak aims to plan and develop 5 industrial parks and 3 new industrial clusters. In particular, the province focuses on developing Hoa Phu Industrial Park with a scale of 331.73 hectares (including an extension of 150 hectares) and Phu Xuan Industrial Park with a scale of 325.6 hectares. In addition, the province also researches the establishment of new potential industrial parks when the industrial park land quota is supplemented and meets the prescribed conditions and standards. These are M’Drak Industrial Park with a scale of 300 hectares, Ea Kar Industrial Park with a scale of 480 hectares and Ea H’leo Industrial Park with a scale of 400 hectares.
A report from the Department of Industry and Trade said that by the end of the first quarter of 2024, Dak Lak will have 9 operating industrial clusters, attracting 173 investment projects and investment registrations, with a total initial registered capital of more than 6,000 billion VND. . In addition, in the period 2021 – 2030 with a vision to 2050, Dak Lak Provincial Planning will develop 26 industrial complexes. Specifically, City. Buon Ma Thuot has 4 industrial clusters; Ea Kar and M’Drak districts, each district has 3 industrial clusters; Krong Buk, Krong Bong, Lak, Ea H’leo districts, each district has 2 industrial clusters; The remaining districts each have 1 CCN.
Developing more industrial parks and industrial clusters helps Dak Lak exploit its strengths in transportation infrastructure, raw materials and especially available local labor resources. This is the premise to accelerate the industrialization process, attract investment and create motivation for economic, urban and social development of the province.
At the same time, the large recruitment demand from factories and businesses for workers is also increasing. With the progress of planning the industrial park and industrial complex system in the near future, this will attract a number of local workers and from other localities, posing a security problem that needs to be solved.
According to statistics from the Dak Lak Province Employment Service Center, from the beginning of 2024 until now, there have been more than 600 businesses registered to recruit workers locally, with a number of more than 10,000 people. Typically, Able Joy Dak Lak Garment Company Limited is expected to recruit about 3,000 more unskilled workers to work.
Overall, City. Buon Ma Thuot is not yet a “compressed” urban area like City. Da Nang or City. Quy Nhon. However, people’s need to buy social housing has also begun to increase sharply with the increasingly rapid pace of industrialization. Dak Lak currently has more than 1.9 million people. The working age force is about 1.2 million people, accounting for nearly 60% of the population. When the number of workers working in industrial parks – industrial clusters means that the need to own social housing will increase.
Up to now, Dak Lak has only two social housing construction projects that are eligible to borrow a credit package of VND 120,000 billion. There are also a number of other social housing projects that are also in the process of completing legal procedures before starting construction.
In fact, the workforce in industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province has a very large need for social housing. Many workers in Hoa Phu Industrial Park are looking forward to having social housing soon in the Industrial Park so they can research and buy at a reasonable price. Housing close to work, convenient accommodation, and taking children to school and work is a common dream. Everyone wishes to have a stable place to live, without having to rent precarious accommodation outside.
Ms. Ho Huynh Gia Han lives in Tan Lap ward, City. Buon Ma Thuot) said that she and her husband are currently renting a house. She and many other workers really want to buy social housing at an affordable price to realize their dream of owning their own house. “With an income of about 15 million VND per month and a savings of only about 300 million VND, buying land is extremely difficult, not even daring to dream of building a house” – Ms. Gia Han sighed.
With the Project “Investment and construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers, period 2021 – 2030” approved by the Prime Minister, Dak Lak expects to solve the problem. The problem arises about developing social housing projects to meet the needs of workers in the coming time./.
