The obesity rate in Vietnam has more than doubled in the past 10 years, from 8.5% in 2010 to 19.0% in 2020. In particular, in large cities, the rate of overweight and obesity in children is school is very high, in Ho Chi Minh City more than 50% and in Hanoi more than 41%, according to 2020 statistics. 70% of obesity in children persists until adulthood.
