On the evening of April 26, at Sa Dec City Square, the City People’s Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province held a ceremony to receive the National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Traditional Crafts. According to the Dong Thap Provincial Museum, the Sa Dec flour making profession has nearly 350 flour producing households with more than 2,000 workers mainly in Tan Phu Dong commune and Ward 2, Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province.

The flour consumption market is increasingly growing, food processing factories inside and outside the province consume an average of hundreds of tons of fresh flour every day to make instant products such as noodles, noodles, pho, and banh canh. , porridge.

At the same time, hundreds of folk cakes are created such as banh xeo, banh khot, banana cake, beef cake, pork skin cake, wrap cake, banh hoi, and types of sweet soup, dishes that create a unique flavor not found anywhere else. also.

Sa Dec rice flour making profession is the focal point supplying flour to all Western provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Southeast region, exporting to Southeast Asian countries and some European countries; creating jobs for 2,000 workers, producing over 50 thousand tons of flour/year.

With traditional handmade methods, many establishments produce flour products that are delicious, flexible, and smooth white. The profession of making rice flour must go through 10 stages such as: Selecting broken rice, cleaning broken rice, grinding broken rice, ballasting flour, beating flour, decanting, skimming flour, dividing flour, breaking flour. , drying the powder and packaging the finished product.
