Call for video examination of the case of the vice chairman of a commune in Nghe An accused of threatening to shoot people

On April 27, Ms. Tran Thi Be Hoang (residing in block 2, Tan Ky town, Tan Ky district, Nghe An province) said that she had just worked with the verification team of Tan Ky district regarding the case she denounced Mr. Nguyen Van. Hung – Vice Chairman of Ky Son Commune People’s Committee threatened to shoot people while on duty.

Previously, on March 4, 2024, Ms. Tran Thi Be Hoang wrote a petition denouncing Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Vice Chairman of Ky Son Commune People’s Committee and Mr. Nguyen Van Nam – Head of the Sang Market Management Board for their oppressive behavior. Her bossy attitude made it difficult for her to do business.

According to Ms. Hoang’s complaint, on the morning of January 31, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Vice Chairman of Ky Son Commune People’s Committee and a number of officials came to check food hygiene and safety at the kiosk where Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai (belonging to Sang market, Ky Son commune) rented part of it to Ms. Hoang.

During the group’s work, two people came to buy meat. Mr. Hung asked them to go somewhere else, but Ms. Hoang still sold meat to people. In that situation, Mr. Hung asked the people to leave with a harsh attitude and said “do you like me to shoot?”

After receiving a written request from the People’s Committee of Nghe An province, the People’s Committee of Tan Ky district accepted the denunciation and established a team to verify the case.

Ms. Tran Thi Be Hoang provided the verification team with a video clip recording all of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung’s actions on the morning of January 31, 2024 at Sang Market (this video clip was broadcast live on social networks).

However, during the process of working with the verification team, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Vice Chairman of Ky Son Commune People’s Committee said that he did not threaten to “shoot” people but rather “arrest”.

Meanwhile, the accuser and witnesses both confirmed that Mr. Hung threatened to “shoot” people who came to buy meat at Ms. Hoang’s kiosk.

Therefore, on April 24, 2024, the verification team of Tan Ky district worked with Ms. Tran Thi Be Hoang to agree on soliciting an appraisal of the video clip provided by Ms. Hoang, in order to clearly identify Mr. Hung’s statement “shooting”. ” or “catch”.

In the working minutes, it is clearly stated that the video evidence assessment was proposed by the accused (Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Vice Chairman of Ky Son Commune People’s Committee).

Ms. Tran Thi Be Hoang said: “I agree with the request for video examination of the accused person’s evidence. My wish is for the law to treat all people strictly and fairly.”

According to Ms. Tran Thi Be Hoang’s reflection, after the above meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Vice Chairman of Ky Son Commune People’s Committee contacted her many times to meet with her to discuss, but she refused.
