Quang Ninh Provincial Library won first prize at the National Librarians Festival

From April 23-26, in Dien Bien province, the National Librarians’ Festival took place to propagate the development of reading culture and introduce books to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 2019). 1954-May 7, 2024). Participating in the festival, Quang Ninh Provincial Library Delegation won the First Prize.

The festival has the participation of 42 delegations with nearly 1,200 librarians, representing more than 10,000 people working in libraries from 63 provinces, cities, armed forces libraries, and university libraries nationwide. With the theme “Dien Bien – Echoing the epic poem forever”, the Festival introduced and spread many good, valuable and meaningful books about the Dien Bien Phu Campaign; Review and revive the heroic historical moment of the nation.

At the tournament, each group participates in 4 competitions, including: Introducing the team; book introduction; Introducing a new, effective model in developing reading culture and serving lifelong learning at localities and units; Gifted. Each team’s program implementation time is from 30 – 35 minutes, of which the focus is on book introduction, which must be at least 15 minutes.

All delegations had thoughtful preparations, elaborate investments, and selected extremely meaningful books, in line with the Festival’s theme, such as the books: Legend of Dien Bien, Dien Bien Phu, historical rendezvous, and Golden History. Dien Bien Phu, General Vo Nguyen Giap with the Dien Bien Phu campaign, Memoirs of General Vo Nguyen Giap…

Coming to the Festival, the Quang Ninh Provincial Library delegation participated in 4 competitions: Introducing the team, elaborately invested in the form of theater connecting military ideology, military tactics, strategies, and tactics of two generals, Tran Hung Dao and Vo Nguyen Giap, demonstrated through the Bach Dang victory in 1288 and Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954; propagated and introduced two books “General Vo Nguyen Giap with the Dien Bien Phu campaign”, “Dien Bien Phu from the perspective of a French soldier”; Introducing a new, effective model in developing reading culture and serving lifelong learning in Quang Ninh province, with highlights such as the exhibition “Economic and social development achievements of Quang Ninh province welcoming 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025”, “Achievements of Quang Ninh province through 60 years of construction and development on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of Quang Ninh province October 30 (1963-2023) “, Exhibition of books, newspapers, photos “Building a model Quang Ninh, rich, beautiful, civilized, modern”… and talent contest.

At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 6 Excellence prizes, 12 First prizes, 12 Second prizes, 12 Third prizes, 4 Thematic prizes (introducing the best team, introducing books that meet the most professional requirements, introducing Creative form serves most effectively, best talent). The Quang Ninh Provincial Library delegation excellently won the First Prize and the Topical Prize for the best team introduction.

The Festival is one of the important activities of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2024), an opportunity to Association for librarians across the country to apply book introduction skills and propagate documents about the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu, the Party’s leadership and President Ho’s ingenious direction.
