Chili is the only spice product with export turnover increasing in the first 3 months of 2024.

Of these, the two main exported spice products are: pepper accounting for 65% reaching 56.8 thousand tons, turnover reaching 235.6 million USD, down 26% in volume and 0.1% in value, cinnamon exports in 3 months accounted for 18.3% market share reaching 16 thousand tons, Turnover reached 46.2 million USD, down 14.6% in volume and 15.7% in value.

Exports of anise, ginger, turmeric, cardamom, and nutmeg also recorded a decrease, only chili export increased 17.6% in volume and 52.8% in value.

The main markets of Vietnamese spices include the US, EU, India and China. While exports to the US and EU are increasing after a long period of decline due to the impact of the economic crisis, exports to India and China are declining, especially Chinese market when pepper exports decreased by 95.8%.
