BYD electric car series is about to be sold in Vietnam

There are about 6 pure electric car models of the world’s largest electric car company about to open for sale in Vietnam from next June.

BYD, the largest electric vehicle company in China and the leader in global sales, is completing the final preparations to do business in Vietnam from June. The company said that the BYD product range reaches customers. Vietnamese spans many segments, from hatchbacks, sedans to SUVs.

BYD models that will be launched in June are Atto 3, Dolphin and Seal, while in October there will be Han, Tang and Song.

Atto 3

The small crossover model BYD Atto 3 leads the list of products available for sale soonest. Atto 3 is halfway between VinFast’s VF 6 and VF 7 with dimensions of length, width, and height of 4,455 x 1,875 x 1,615 mm, wheelbase 2,720 mm. The main competitors that Atto 3 targets are B+ gasoline-powered crossovers, such as the Toyota Corolla Cross.

In the neighboring market of Thailand, BYD Atto 3 is the best-selling electric car model. The car is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 60.48 kWh, giving a range of 480 km after each full charge. The car’s electric motor has a capacity of 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque.

Seal

Possessing a stylish fastback design, BYD Seal is a D-size sedan aimed at young customers. The car is 4,800 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, 1,460 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. These parameters are equivalent to a Toyota Camry with dimensions of 4,885 x 1,840 x 1,445 mm, wheelbase 2,825 mm.

BYD Seal uses a 61.4 kWh or 82.5 kWh battery platform, with a range of 460-570 km. The electric motor on the rear axle produces 201-308 horsepower. With 4-wheel drive, the electric motor on the front and rear axles reaches a capacity of 523 horsepower. In the most advanced version, Seal accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

Dolphin

With dimensions of length x width x height of 4,290 x 1,770 x 1,570 mm, wheelbase of 2,700 mm, BYD Dolphin is positioned as a 5-door hatchback of size B. With a youthful and dynamic appearance, Dolphin is aimed at competitors. gasoline like Toyota Yaris or Suzuki Swift.

Dolphin installs a 44.9 kWh battery pack, giving a range of 340 km. Electric motor mounted on the front axle, 95 horsepower, 180 Nm of torque. With a conventional 7.4 kW charger from a home AC power source, it takes about more than 7 hours to fully charge the battery.

Han

BYD Han was built by the Chinese car company as the largest sedan (size E), the most advanced in the product range. Han’s length x width x height dimensions are 4,995 x 1,910 x 1,490 mm. Wheelbase 2,920 mm. This size is at the threshold of Lexus ES, Mercedes E-class.

Han has two powertrain options: plug-in hybrid and pure electric. As for the pure EV version, it has an 85.4 kWh battery pack and a range of 521 km. The electric motor on the front and rear axles produces a total capacity of 509 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Tang

The 3-row D-size SUV, BYD Tang has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,870 x 1,950 x 1,725 ​​mm, wheelbase 2,820 mm. These parameters are slightly better than gasoline-powered models such as Hyundai Santa Fe 4,785 x 1,900 x 1,720 mm, wheelbase 2,765 mm or Toyota Fortuner with dimensions 4,795 x 1,855 x 1,835 mm, wheelbase 2,745 mm.

Tang has two engine options, including hybrid and pure electric. As for the pure electric version with three variants, 90.3 kWh battery – 600 km range, 108.8 kWh battery – 730 km range (front-wheel drive), 108.8 kWh battery – 635 km range (2-wheel drive).

The Tang’s externally charged hybrid variant uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. In pure electric mode alone, the car can travel 112-200 km under normal use conditions.

Song

Compared to Tang, BYD Song is softer thanks to its fastback design and more sporty orientation. The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,840 x 1,950 x 1,560 mm, wheelbase 2,930 mm. The car also offers two powertrains: externally charged hybrid and pure electric.

The pure electric version of Song installs a 71.8 kWh battery, giving a range of 550 km. The other option is an 87 kWh battery, with a range of 662 km. All are rear-wheel drive thanks to an electric motor with 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque.

The hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5 turbocharger with a capacity of 108 horsepower. Comes with the support of an electric motor with 194 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque.
