During the days from April 23 to 26, the working delegation of Thai Binh province led by Mr. Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, organized investment and trade promotion activities. trade in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Dong Hai affirmed that it is a thriving province in the Northern Delta region with an attractive investment environment, many preferential investment policies, and a favorable geographical location. Thai Binh province is rising strongly, becoming the most attractive investment destination among the northern provinces of Vietnam.

Mr. Ngo Dong Hai expressed his hope that the Conference would open up many opportunities for cooperation between Thai Binh province and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in all fields, especially in clean water management, education, healthcare, clean energy, and agriculture. High-tech industry, pharmaceutical industry, biology… are fields that Thai Binh needs to develop and the Netherlands has strengths.

He also pledged that Thai Binh province will always accompany and create the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest, expand production and business, and do long-term and effective business locally.

Within the framework of the Conference, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Dong Hai, Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam and provincial leaders witnessed the signing and awarding of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Thai Binh province and WTC Leeuwarden.

On the same day, the delegation of Thai Binh province paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Arno Brok, Governor of Friesland province.

Friesland is the province with the largest area in the Netherlands if including water surface area (more than 5,700km2). Unique and diverse cultural features and policies to preserve and develop culture have helped the province be voted European Capital of Culture 2018 and strongly expand the tourism industry.

Favorable natural conditions also help the province develop agriculture, especially dairy farming and dairy products.

With the similarities between Thai Binh and Friesland in terms of natural conditions and economic development orientation and vision, the two sides agreed to promote cooperative activities between the two provinces, especially calling on businesses from both sides. Actively cooperate in many specific fields in the coming time.

Also during the working program in the Netherlands, the Thai Binh province delegation visited and worked with Boskalis and Royal Van Oord corporations – two leading Dutch enterprises in sea reclamation and river bed dredging. Offshore sand exploitation, construction of marine structures; and visit the wind farm of Pondera Group, specializing in offshore wind power.

In the period 2021-2030, Thai Binh implements the Thai Binh LNG Power Plant project with a capacity of 1,500MW, total investment capital of nearly 2 billion USD according to the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII), expected to start construction in 2025 and complete in 2029.

With the orientation of developing clean, green energy in the coming time, realizing the Master Plan of Thai Binh province to 2030, vision to 2050, aiming for the net zero emission target that Vietnam has committed to. At the United Nations Climate Conference – COP26, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Dong Hai expressed his wish for Boskalis, Royal Van Oord and Pondera corporations to research and cooperate with domestic investors to implement projects. projects on sea reclamation, seaport construction, onshore wind power and offshore wind power in the province.

He also pledged that Thai Binh will always accompany and create the most favorable conditions for Dutch businesses to explore opportunities for investment cooperation, effective production and business, and mutual development in the province.

Representatives of the above large enterprises have expressed their interest in the province’s investment projects, especially the province’s socio-economic development planning in the direction of expanding development space towards the sea with projects. The sea reclamation project and planning are very impressive, demonstrating the province’s great development aspirations in the coming time.

The Thai Binh province delegation also paid a courtesy visit to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Huong Nam, and Embassy officials in The Hague.
