From 6 a.m. April 27 – the first day of the April 30 – May 1 holiday, the number of vehicles flocking to Phap Van – Cau Gie expressway increased dramatically. The line of cars lined up in 3 rows, stretching nearly 2km, waiting to pass the toll station.

Vehicles move slowly at a speed of 10-20km/h from the area across the Tu Khoat overpass (Thanh Tri) to Km 188+300 (Phap Van – Cau Gie Expressway Toll Station).

Many times, drivers drive vehicles into the emergency lane on the highway, forcing traffic police to remind and regulate vehicles back to the designated lane.

At 7:30, the route from Giai Phong to old National Highway 1A, towards Thuong Tin district, Phu Xuyen… also fell into congestion.

In both directions of the elevated Ring Road 3 (section through Linh Dam urban area) there is congestion, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Nghiem Xuan Yem Street (towards Linh Dam Lake) is very crowded with vehicles, many motorbike riders have jumped onto the sidewalk to escape the congestion.

Cars lined up to go from Nghiem Xuan Yem street to the elevated beltway 3 (passing Linh Dam lake). It is forecasted that traffic flowing to the southern gateway of Hanoi city will continue to increase on April 27.
