On March 20, the Forest Ranger Department of Bat Xat Nature Reserve (Lao Cai province) organized an inspection of the construction of the Bien May eco-tourism resort project. Through inspection, it was discovered that Vuong Dat Company Limited had acts of deforestation, encroachment, and land appropriation to construct the project.

Accordingly, Vuong Dat Co., Ltd. (Company) arbitrarily leveled and constructed to change the current status of forests and non-forest land with a total area of ​​5,410 m2.2 Outside the boundary, the scope has been approved by the competent authority, including: 760 m2 natural forest and 4,650 m2 non-forest land (1,450 m2 Forestry planning land, 3,200m2 outside forestry planning).

Specifically, the Company has occupied 1,500 m2 Non-forest land to build 02 level 04 houses, a hut and deck for sightseeing; arbitrarily leveling 2,800 m2 land without forests; Excavation, leveling, damming to make 02 water storage ponds, including 01 pond with an area of ​​970m22 (including 620 m2 is natural forest, production and 350m2 non-forest land) causing damage of 760 m2 Natural forests and production forest functions are managed by the People’s Committee of Y Ty commune (Bat Xat district).

Through work, Mr. Do Manh Thang, Director of Vuong Dat Co., Ltd. could not present legal documents from the competent authority permitting digging, leveling and land occupation.

Immediately after discovering the incident, the Bat Xat Nature Reserve Forest Ranger Department made a record and reported the incident to the Bat Xat District Party Committee to direct handling.

The Forest Protection Department of Bat Xat Nature Reserve also imposed an administrative fine of VND 22,000,000 on Vuong Dat Company Limited in accordance with the law, requiring the restoration of the original status quo and reforestation of the area. deforested.

The Bien May eco-tourism resort project in Y Ty commune, Bat Xat district was approved for investment by the People’s Committee of Lao Cai province according to Decision No. 2954/QD-UBND dated September 24, 2018.

This is the first eco-tourism resort in Y Ty commune, Bat Xat district with detailed planning approved by the Provincial People’s Committee according to Decision No. 2015/QD-UBND dated July 8, 2019.

Bien May Y Ty eco-tourism resort has an area of ​​16 hectares, including many functional areas such as: Executive reception area (reception house, executive house, square, parking lot); hotel and service areas (hotels, restaurants, spas); ecological resorts (H’Mong hill resort, Dao hill resort, Ha Nhi hill resort, bungalow resort…); amusement parks; agricultural area combined with landscape; Technical infrastructure works and auxiliary areas.
