On April 26, information from the government of Truong Thi ward (Vinh city – Nghe An) said that the authorities successfully detonated a bomb discovered in the area.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 25, a group of workers using a excavator to build a drainage ditch system across Dinh Bat Tuy Street, Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City, scooped up a metal object.
When checking, workers found a bomb underneath that was 1.1 m long and 41 cm in diameter with the detonator and tail fin intact.
The bomb lies about 2 meters above the ground, a remnant from the war. When discovered, the construction unit reported it to local authorities.

Immediately afterwards, military forces arrived, zoned in, used measures and equipment to move the bomb to a safe area and successfully detonated it.
The area where the bomb was discovered is a road in the center of Vinh City, near many offices, schools, and crowded residential areas.
