Vietnamese newspaper helps singer Huong Tram refute rumors of ‘giving birth to Vuong Dinh Hue’s child’

HANOI, Vietnam (NV) – One day after Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was dismissed by the party as chairman of the Vietnam National Assembly, newspapers in Vietnam simultaneously published news to help singer Huong Tram correct the rumor of “giving birth to twins” for him.

Huong Tram was the champion of the first season of “The Voice of Vietnam” in 2012. After the show, her name was associated with songs that are popular with young people such as “Stupid,” “Rainy Girl,” “Duyen I Missed…”

A few years ago, this singer suddenly announced that she would temporarily stop singing and go to America to study.

According to Tuoi Tre newspaper on April 27, Ms. Huong Tram wrote on her personal page: “Thank you very much to everyone who has always loved and supported Huong Tram. This time, Huong Tram was present in Vietnam after four years of studying abroad and began her journey of contributing to art in her homeland.”

“However, some false information is being spread and tarnishing her image, which has greatly affected Huong Tram’s work.”

She apologized to the families of the twin babies she took a photo with and which was later distributed on social networks.

In addition, singer Huong Tram also warned that she is “in the process of collecting more evidence of libel and defamation” to take appropriate legal action.

Besides Tuoi Tre, other newspapers such as VNExpress, Dan Tri, Thanh Nien… also published similar news but absolutely did not mention Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue’s name.

What interests the public is that the rumor that singer Huong Tram “gave birth to twins” for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was widely spread at least a month ago, but it was not until he “fell off the horse” that the newspapers reported refutation.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue is known as a lover of singing and has relationships with singers.

A video clip appeared on YouTube showing Mr. Hue, when he was still deputy prime minister, spontaneously singing the song “Cau Choi Cau Cho” when visiting Ha Tinh University in 2016.

On the evening of April 26, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was announced by the Party Central Committee to be “released from holding positions” because “there were violations and shortcomings of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue that caused bad public opinion, affecting the prestige of the party and state…”

This outcome was not unexpected by observers, taking place just four days after the Ministry of Public Security announced the arrest of Mr. Pham Thai Ha, Mr. Hue’s assistant, for being involved in the Thuan An case. (NHK)
