Information from Phuc Tan Commune Police (Pho Yen City), at 5:45 p.m. on April 26, while playing and bathing with friends at Nui Coc Lake in Hamlet 2, Phuc Tan Commune, Pham Van T., born in 2013, residing in hamlet 2, unfortunately drowned. Although he was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, he did not survive.

On the morning of April 27, leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the City Department of Education and Training and the Party Committee and authorities of Phuc Tan commune came to offer condolences, encourage the victim’s family, and hand over money. 3 million VND (deducted from the Pho Yen City Children’s Fund), Phuc Tan commune supported the family 1 million VND.

* Around 1:30 p.m. on April 27, at the section of Cau River flowing through Xuan Dam hamlet, Dong Lien commune (Thai Nguyen city), a group of students invited each other to bathe in the river.

After 30 minutes of bathing, 1 out of 3 students was swept away by the water. Seeing their friend in trouble, the two remaining students shouted for someone to come rescue them. After nearly an hour of searching, everyone found the victim, TAD, born in 2008, in group 7, Tan Thanh ward (Thai Nguyen city), a student at Thai Nguyen College of Industry and Trade. The two people accompanying are Vu Thanh T., born in 2009, in Luong Son ward (Song Cong city) and Tran Gia N., born in 2009, in group 3, Tan Thanh ward (Thai Nguyen city).

Dong Lien commune authorities and functional forces have contacted the victim’s family to carry out procedures according to regulations.

Drowning is common in the summer months due to hot weather, children often have the habit of bathing in rivers, streams, ponds, lakes… Therefore, families and communities need to pay attention to preventing drowning in children, avoiding unfortunate events.
