At the meeting with the German Federal Ministry of Justice, Deputy Minister Mai Luong Khoi and Secretary of State of the German Federal Ministry of Justice Benjamin Strasser reviewed the situation of cooperation activities between Vietnamese and Vietnamese legal and judicial partners. The Federal Republic of Germany within the framework of the 2022-2025 Cooperation Program aims to implement the Joint Declaration on cooperation in the field of law and justice between the Governments of the two countries, signed on February 29, 2008 in Hanoi.

Secretary of State Benjamin Strasser highly appreciated the results achieved by both sides and said that the German Ministry of Justice will continue to coordinate closely and effectively to fully implement specific cooperation activities in the 2024 Plan and will continue to work with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to support the activities of the German Law Center at Hanoi Law University, to build high-quality training programs, long-term links with German law training institutions.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Alexandra Albert – General Director of the German Foundation for International Cooperation in Law (IRZ) – also affirmed to continue to accompany and support the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice in learning and consulting international experience in related fields, through appropriate forms of cooperation.

Deputy Minister Mai Luong Khoi thanked the effective cooperation between IRZ and the Ministry of Justice in particular, and Vietnamese legal and judicial agencies in general, and expressed confidence that the two sides will continue to coordinate closely in implementation. carry out specific cooperative activities, contributing to strengthening the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Share experiences in law enforcement with the state of Hesse

During the visit and working session with the Ministry of Justice of Hesse, State Minister of Justice Christian Heinz and Deputy Minister Mai Luong Khoi highly agreed that the two Ministries will continue to effectively implement the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in Hanoi. While working in Germany, the Ministry of Justice delegation worked with the Association of Federal Notary Public Chambers of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bnotk).

The two sides affirmed that they will continue to cooperate effectively in the field of notarization, and also appreciated that the Vietnam Notary Association and Bnotk will sign a Cooperation Agreement in the near future.

Mr. Max Ehrl, CEO of Bnotk, affirmed that Bnotk will continue to promote notary cooperation activities with the Ministry of Justice and the Vietnam Notary Association.

The delegation also researched and surveyed directly at the Berlin Notary Office and the Frankfurt Notary Office on notary activities in Germany, on electronic notarization, and on building and exploiting the notary database that has been and is being developed. In addition, the working group worked with the Federal Bailiffs’ Union of the Federal Republic of Germany (DGVB), Mitte District Court (Berlin) and Wiesbaden District Court (Hesse state).
