The Vietnamese film “The Price of Happiness” – starring Thai Hoa and Xuan Lan – surpassed many foreign films to top the sales chart last week, ending the period of sluggish Vietnamese films.

The price of happinessis one of two Vietnamese films released to audiences last week, besides B4S – Before “love” time.
The project invested in and produced by Xuan Lan, directed by her husband Nguyen Ngoc Lam, marks the return of Thai Hoa, at the same time brings together many famous faces such as Lam Thanh Nha, Uyen An, Huu Chau…

Meanwhile, B4S – Before “love” timehas not created a great attraction despite gathering a beautiful young cast including Jun Vu, Ton Kinh Lam, Khanh Van, Tung… The film grossed more than 1.7 billion VND in the three weekends and the total revenue is at a very low level, currently just over 2.8 billion VND.
The work belongs to the comedy and emotional genres, choosing quite sensitive sexual topics, reminiscent of many foreign projects such as the series American Pie American, Korean movies Sex Is Zero…
When released, the film received many criticisms from the audience for its light content, unattractive narrative, and stiff acting from the cast.
In its second week in theaters, Fragile flowerof Mai Thu Huyen is still sluggish. During the three weekends, the film achieved a record low revenue, just over 44 million VND for 87 screenings and 429 tickets sold. This achievement is even lower than last week (200 million VND and more than 1,900 tickets).
The work marks the return of director Mai Thu Huyen after Kieu (2021) received many criticisms. The film brings together a cast including Maya, Duc Tien, Quoc Cuong, Trizzie Phuong Trinh… and was filmed entirely in the US.
When released, the work received many criticisms about its content and acting. The participating faces are not names that can guarantee film revenue.
Foreign film reduces heat
Entering the fourth week in Vietnamese theaters, blockbuster Godzilla x Kong: New Empire cooled down but still ranked second on the rankings Box Office Vietnam.
