Tired of the embarrassing incident at My Dinh Stadium in the Vietnam – Borussia Dortmund match

On the evening of November 30, an international friendly match between the Vietnamese team and the Borussia Dortmund club (Germany) took place at My Dinh National Stadium. This is also the most modern stadium in Vietnam with a capacity of 40,000 seats.

However, many technical problems related to the facilities of My Dinh Stadium have occurred continuously, affecting the quality of the match and worsening the image of Vietnamese football. It is worth mentioning that this stadium has just been repaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the eve of the 31st SEA Games in May 2022.

Specifically, in the 86th minute of the match, when the Vietnamese team was awarded an 11m penalty, suddenly the crossbar of the Borussia Dortmund club for some reason slipped out of position.

Dortmund’s goalkeeper tried to fix the problem but couldn’t get the crossbar into place. After struggling for a while, the staff of the match organizer had to run the ladder to fix it.

The situation caused the match to be interrupted for nearly 5 minutes and caused players and coaches of both teams to shake their heads in dismay.

And yet, during the break in the first half, the technical area of ​​the two teams and the referee’s area were blown by the wind many times.

The match organizers had to let staff wear raincoats to keep around the technical area so as not to spill. This also causes a very “funny” image in a stadium that is considered the most modern in Vietnam.

Present on the My Dinh stand, many spectators said that the technical area of ​​My Dinh stadium was far behind the stadiums of the clubs participating in the current V-League because it was too bad and of poor quality.

Speaking in the press conference room after the match, Coach Park Hang Seo said that this was an international friendly match and if the organizers had prepared more carefully, such incidents would not have happened.
