Canceled the bidding package of more than 35,000 billion VND to build Long Thanh international airport

Mr. Vu The Phiet, General Director of ACV has just signed a decision approving the cancellation of package 5.10 “Construction and installation of equipment for the Passenger Terminal” of component project 3 – Essential works in the port The airport is part of the construction investment project of Long Thanh International Airport, phase 1.

The reason for the cancellation of the bid was stated by the representative of ACV because all the bids did not meet the requirements of the bidding documents.

“According to the process, this bidding package will be re-bidding and it will take at least 45 more days. After bidding, selecting a contractor will determine the progress of the bidding package, “ACV representative said.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport sent a written request to the Ministry of Planning and Investment to assume the prime responsibility for, and organize the implementation of, supervision and review of bidding activities of the construction investment project of Long Thanh International Airport phase 1; including the bidding package “Construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal” under the project component 3 – essential works in the port.

Package No. 5.10, has a contract performance period of 990 days (33 months), including weekends, public holidays and Tet holidays in accordance with Vietnamese law from the effective date of the contract.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, ACV, as the investment decider, the competent person of the project is responsible for deciding and directing the supervision and monitoring of bidding activities for the above bidding package.

It is known that when ACV held a pre-bid conference, it attracted nearly 10 contractors from Germany, Japan, Korea, China and Vietnam to attend. However, by the time of bid closing (November 8, 2022), only 1 bidder submitted a bid.
