Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Sergeeva caused a stir because of her young age and little experience in her appointed position.
Anna Sergeeva, 25 years old, on June 10 took office as Deputy Minister in charge of European integration of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, but the information was not made public at that time. The last few days, the appointment is controversial on social networks because Sergeeva has no experience in the public sector.
According to her public profile online, Sergeeva “started her career in the private sector as the head of a beauty consulting firm”. She is studying for a doctorate in journalism at the National University in Kiev.

Sergeeva is described as a “civil activist” as she has been helping disabled children, orphans and elderly people alone for the past four years. From August 2021 to June 2022, Sergeeva worked as an advisor to the Minister of Social Policy. For the second position, Sergeeva received a salary of 68,600 hryvnia ($2,300) per month.
Many netizens criticized the appointment of Sergeeva, and she locked her Instagram account. “Having no experience to be a deputy minister at the age of 25. It’s like a dream. Hey Politburo, are you wasting your time? Have you forgotten the country is at war? Or is it? do you recruit relatives to work?”, wrote lawyer Klim Bratkovsky
“In order for you to understand the gravity of the matter, I must clarify that Sergeeva only had experience managing a business consulting firm, a hair salon and a beauty salon before becoming a public servant,” the Facebook account said. Yulia Gavrilova commented.
Meanwhile, political consultant Sergei Bykov defended Sergeeva. “The turmoil surrounding the new Deputy Minister is a collection of patriarchal, sexist and ageist ideas. These are not European values,” commented Bykov.
