North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of Russian affairs Im Chon Il said on April 24 that the battlefield in Ukraine has long become a “graveyard” of many weapons promoted by the US and NATO.

“The Ukrainian battlefield has long become a graveyard for many types of weapons praised by the US and NATO,” the official said in a statement published by North Korea’s state news agency KCNA.

North Korea’s deputy minister said that the nearly 61 billion USD aid bill for Ukraine passed by the US House of Representatives last week could only help Ukraine “momentarily cheer up the fear of losing on the battlefield”.

In the latest developments, the US Senate passed the above bill. US President Joe Biden announced that he will sign the law into law and start the process of resuming aid to Ukraine after many months of interruption.

According to North Korean officials, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky seems to follow Western instructions and does not understand his opponent clearly (referring to Russia).

This official said that any US aid package for Ukraine cannot stop the advance of Russian forces on the front lines.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on April 23 that most of the more than $60 billion in US aid to Ukraine will fund Washington’s military industry.

“Washington intends to allocate nearly 61 billion USD to the Kiev government to prevent the collapse of the Ukrainian armed forces. Most of the allocated money will finance the US military industry. The US administration stated that Ukrainians will die for the sake of Washington in fighting against Russia,” Mr. Shoigu accused.

Mr. Shoigu also said: “Russian soldiers have dispelled the myth of the superiority of Western weapons,” referring to Ukraine’s counteroffensive supported by NATO but unsuccessful last year.

“We will increase the intensity of attacks on Western logistics centers and weapons warehouses,” the Russian Defense Minister emphasized.

Russian officials have repeatedly criticized the West for providing weapons to Ukraine, saying this action only prolongs the conflict and causes more suffering for the Ukrainian people. Moscow also warned that any foreign weapons brought into Ukraine will become Russia’s legitimate target for destruction.

Earlier this month, Politico Citing anonymous Ukrainian military officials, there is an “unfortunate” trend of Western weapons being sent to Kiev so slowly that they become unsuitable for the battlefield situation. This makes many weapons, although modern, not as effective as expected.

While Ukraine’s Western allies have provided tens of billions of dollars in military aid and equipment, some of the more advanced systems they have pledged, such as the F-16 fighter jet, remain slow. progress and have not yet reached the battlefield.

During that waiting period, Russia will often find tactics to “catch” new Western weapons when they appear, the source said.
