On the morning of April 24, the trial of defendants Tran Qui Thanh, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich continued with questioning by the Procuracy representative.

At the trial this morning, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phu (the broker for Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh to meet Mr. Tran Qui Thanh) confirmed that his testimony in court was accurate. Accordingly, during the trial yesterday afternoon, Mr. Phu denied being a loan broker. Mr. Phu declared that he only introduced Ms. Oanh to Mr. Thanh – an investment partner to cooperate in the form of project transfer or share transfer.

When the Procuracy representative asked if the testimony at the Investigation Agency was accurate, Mr. Phu said that during the investigation process, the investigator asked many questions so he could not remember clearly which testimony.

Before this testimony, the representative of the Procuracy said that Mr. Phu’s testimony in court and at the investigation agency were different in nature. Accordingly, the representative of the Procuracy cited a number of statements made by Mr. Phu at the Investigation Agency, including testimony about brokering loans for Mr. Thanh from Mr. Lam Son Hoang and Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh.

Mr. Phu continued to affirm that he was only a broker for Ms. Oanh. Mr. Hoang met Mr. Thanh. At that time, he did not know whether the relationship was a loan or a sale. Later, when the investigator explained, he understood that it was a lending relationship.

The representative of the Procuracy said that Mr. Phu may be considered for handling false declarations.

Answering a question from the Procuracy representative about the source of money to buy real estate of the victims, Mr. Tran Qui Thanh said, there were transactions of the defendant personally and there were transactions of family members.

“Is the defendant aware that his behavior is lending for interest, or does the defendant still determine that this is a buying and selling transaction?”, the Procuracy representative asked.

Defendant Tran Qui Thanh replied: “After the Procuracy analyzed, the defendant found that he was wrong, the defendant agreed with the Procuracy’s point of view.”

Along with this question, defendant Tran Uyen Phuong admitted the indictment.

Regarding the source of money to buy real estate, defendant Phuong said that some transactions were the defendant’s money and the contracts signed under Mr. Thanh’s direction were Mr. Thanh’s money.

The Procuracy stated the requests of Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh to force the defendants to return 100% of Minh Thanh Company’s shares once, in full; entire residential – service area project in An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province for Kim Oanh Dong Nai Company; The entire Nhon Thanh residential area project in Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province for Thuan Loi Company;

Records and documents related to Minh Thanh Company, Minh Thanh project, Nhon Thanh project and damages due to loss of “business development opportunities” from the time the property was appropriated until the case was brought. on trial is 531 billion VND.

After stating this, the Procuracy representative asked defendant Thanh if he agreed with Ms. Oanh’s request. Defendant Thanh proposed to resolve it according to the law.
