Increase penalties for motorbike violations
Speaking at the National Online Conference summarizing the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the first quarter and directions and tasks for the second quarter of this year organized by the National Traffic Safety Committee on the morning of April 24, Minister Nguyen Van Thang assessed that cold penalties for cars in provinces and cities, including Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, are doing relatively well. Traffic accidents are still complicated
Previously, reported at the conference, according to Mr. Le Kim Thanh, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, traffic accidents in the first quarter of this year (from December 15, 2023 to March 14 /2024, there will be 6,550 incidents nationwide, killing 2,723 people and injuring 5,246 people.
Assessing that the number of deaths from traffic accidents continues to be controlled and reduced compared to the same period in 2023 when there was a decrease of 484 deaths (down 15.1%), however, Mr. Thanh said that the number of traffic accidents and The number of people injured in traffic accidents tends to increase, specifically an increase of 1,194 cases (an increase of 22.3%) and an increase of 1,847 injured people (an increase of 54.3%).
In the first quarter, there were 40 provinces and centrally run cities with a decrease in the number of deaths due to traffic accidents compared to the same period in 2023, of which 11 localities reduced the number of deaths by over 30%.
