2 reporters were assaulted while working at a fire in Hanoi

On the night of April 23 and early morning of April 24, Thanh Tri District Police (Hanoi) received a report of an intentional injury incident that occurred in Viet Yen village, Ngu Hiep commune. The victims are Mr. NVC (reporter for VTV Times) and MHM (reporter for VnExpress electronic newspaper).

According to reports from two victims, on the evening of April 23, Mr. C. and Mr. M. received news of a factory fire in Viet Yen village. After contacting the authorities, two reporters were instructed to enter the scene of the incident to work.

However, when two reporters were using personal phones to record the fire, both at two different times and locations were suddenly attacked by a group of three subjects, hindering their work.

This group insulted, threatened, hit reporter C. on the head causing bleeding…, strangled, kicked… reporter M. Some of the property of the two victims such as phones were snatched by the subjects. , thrown or broken during the assault.

Immediately afterward, two reporters went to the police headquarters to report and then provided first aid at the hospital.

The case is being collected and investigated by Thanh Tri District Police.
