On April 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department said it received a white peacock from the people.
The person who voluntarily handed over the precious animal was Ms. Le Thi Phuong (residing in Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to Ms. Phuong, at noon 4 days ago (April 20), her biological sister in Thu Duc City discovered a beautiful white bird perched on the third floor balcony. The sister tried to chase the bird away, but the animal refused to fly. Later, this woman caught her and brought her into the house.
After learning that her sister caught the bird, Ms. Phuong researched and found out that this was a rare type of peacock. A day later, Ms. Phuong’s family brought this giant bird to the Wildlife Rescue Station in Cu Chi to hand it over.
Park rangers from the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department noted that the giant bird above is male, weighs about 4kg, belongs to the pheasant family, also known as peacock.
At the same time, the rangers determined that this was an Indian peacock, scientifically known as Pava Cristatus, an endangered animal.
Visitors can easily “fall in love and die tired” when they see the beautiful giants “tucking their necks in, spreading their wings” to show off their colorful feathers.
