According to Transfermarkt, the total value of 23 Vietnamese U23 players participating in the U23 Asian tournament is 2.19 million euros (about 59.5 billion VND). That helps coach Hoang Anh Tuan’s team have the 10th highest value out of 16 teams participating in the U23 Asian tournament.

It’s quite surprising that the value of U23 Vietnam is even higher than U23 Iraq. The value of the West Asian team is only 1.98 million euros. That is a surprising number because according to many experts, U23 Iraq is still considered better than U23 Vietnam.
In the past, Iraq U23 won the U23 Asian Championship in 2013. They also reached the quarterfinals in 4/5 appearances. In this year’s tournament, this team excellently defeated defending champion U23 Saudi Arabia with a score of 2-1.
The reason why Iraq U23 is not highly valued by Transfermarkt is because many players are still priced at 0 VND (ie not yet valued). They are young players playing domestically or on the payroll of youth teams at European clubs. Because they have not appeared in major tournaments, they have not yet been priced.
