The number of commune-level administrative units after the arrangement remains at 518 units, including 337 communes, 160 wards, 21 towns; The number of commune-level administrative units reduced by arrangement is 61 units, including 46 communes and 15 wards.

According to the previous plan of the City People’s Committee, after arrangement, the number of commune-level administrative units is expected to decrease by 70 units, from 579 units to 509 units.

However, 3 districts of Dan Phuong, Hoai Duc, Thanh Tri did not make arrangements during this period. Instead, 3 localities are implementing the project to build a district into a district in the near future.

Therefore, the number of commune-level administrative units in Hanoi is expected to decrease by only 61 units.

Regarding the results of voter consultation, the city had more than 924,000 voters giving their opinions on the arrangement of administrative units in the area, reaching a rate of 99.02%. Of which, 95% of the total voters agreed on the arrangement of the administrative units and 96.54% of the voters agreed on the name of the new administrative unit after the arrangement.

Leaders of the Department of Home Affairs said that after having the results of collecting voters’ opinions, the People’s Councils at all levels held thematic meetings to discuss, vote and pass a resolution approving the policy of arranging administrative units. locality.

Of these, 87 communes and 5 towns held thematic meetings, the rate of People’s Council delegates attending the meeting agreeing with the policy reached 100%. At the same time, 20 districts and towns held thematic meetings with 100% of People’s Council delegates attending the meeting agreeing to approve the policy.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated the project for being thoughtfully and thoroughly prepared, proactive in planning issues, and quite comprehensively identifying issues that need to be adjusted. , handled before, during, and after implementing the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the area.
