The two suspects were identified as Suzuki Hiroto, 33 years old and Kato Takuya, 50 years old; suspected of involvement in the murder of a Japanese compatriot.
Investigators suspect this murder is related to a failed agreement between Japanese Yakuza gangs.

Conducting an investigation, Thai authorities discovered that this was a gruesome murder case.
On April 21, investigators found axes and saws thrown about 2 km from the body. Then, on April 23, skull fragments and joints were also found in an alley near the original discovery site.
All body parts were sent for forensic analysis, which confirmed that they all belonged to the same person. The victim was identified as Mr. Kabashima Ryosuke, 47 years old, Japanese nationality.
Police on April 23 arrested a Thai suspect named Kritsakorn Jaiphitak, 34 years old. Kritsakorn Jaiphitak admitted to transporting three Japanese men to a factory on the outskirts of Bangkok. This group had a fierce argument right in the car.
When they arrived, a man asked Jaiphitak to get out of the car. “After getting out of the car and smoking, I heard gunshots inside the car so I ran back and discovered that the person sitting in the front seat had been shot in the head and died on the spot” – Jaiphitak told the police.
Jaiphitak said the two remaining Japanese men took the body to the warehouse and returned to the car with many heavy, black plastic bags. They then asked Jaiphitak to drive to different locations and dispose of the bags.
Police escorted Jaiphitak to the factory to search for more evidence. Investigators have accused Jaiphitak of concealing criminals and destroying corpses.
