On April 26, the Standing Office of the Traffic Safety Committee of Binh Tan District (HCMC) coordinated with relevant units to organize a Contract Signing Ceremony to ensure traffic safety for students at schools in the district. year 2024.

Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Thuan Lang, Deputy Head of Binh Tan District Police, Mr. Ngo Van Tuyen, Head of Education and Training Department of Binh Tan District, along with teams from the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police and representatives schools.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Lang said that in the past year, traffic accidents in the district have decreased, but the traffic accident situation is still extremely complicated.

From 2023 to the first quarter of 2024, the district will have 212 traffic accidents, killing 51 people, injuring 144 people, and damaging more than 240 vehicles and many other properties. Among them, there were 6 tragic accidents involving students.

“This is an alarming number. The consequences of traffic accidents for society are huge, and even greater for students of all ages. Therefore, the task is set for relevant units in ensuring Traffic safety is extremely urgent,” said Lieutenant Colonel Lang.

He also emphasized that the district police and traffic police teams of PC08 Department in the area continue to advise and coordinate with the education department to focus on effective propaganda work.

Regarding patrolling, controlling, and handling violations, it must be strict and deterrent, but associated with humanity, so that children are aware and voluntarily comply.

At the ceremony, representatives of Binh Tan District Police and 33 schools and continuing education centers in the area signed a contract.

Accordingly, Binh Tan District Police will mobilize maximum forces and means to detect and remind and strictly handle cases of students and parents using vehicles such as electric bicycles, bicycles, motorbikes… violations on roads around the school, handling behaviors such as stopping and parking illegally, driving in the opposite direction, and students not qualified to drive vehicles.

In addition, Binh Tan District Police will direct the ward police to advise the ward Traffic Safety Committee to implement content such as not delivering vehicles, not driving vehicles when not qualified to participate in traffic according to regulations, and checking Check business licenses at parking lots around schools, organize parking lot owners to sign a commitment not to keep vehicles over 50 cubic centimeters for students.

The District Department of Education and Training is responsible for ensuring that 100% of primary schools and above in the area organize teachers, parents, and students to sign a commitment to comply with the law on traffic order and safety. Schools must also sign a contract not to look after or keep motorbikes for students who are not qualified to drive vehicles in traffic. In case the student meets the conditions, the unit must make a list and manage it.
