On April 26, the 13th Party Central Committee met at the Party Central Committee headquarters to review and give opinions on cadre work.
Accordingly, the Central Executive Committee has considered removing Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, term 2021-2026.
According to the Central Executive Committee, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue is a key leader of the Party and State, received basic training, and grew up from the grassroots; assigned to hold many important leadership positions of the Party and State. However, according to the report of the Central Inspection Committee and the authorities, Mr. Hue violated the Regulations on what party members cannot do, the Regulations on the responsibility of setting an example for officials and party members, First of all, he is a member of the Politburo, member of the Secretariat, member of the Party Central Committee and is responsible for the head according to the Party’s regulations and the laws of the State.
Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue’s violations and shortcomings, according to the Central Executive Committee, have caused bad public opinion, affecting the reputation of the Party, the State and him personally.
Clearly aware of his responsibility to the Party, State and People, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue has submitted an application to resign from his assigned positions and take a leave of absence from work. Based on current regulations of the Party and State and considering Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue’s wishes, the Party Central Committee agreed to let him resign from the following positions: Member of the Politburo, Member of the Central Executive Committee. Party Central Committee term XIII, Chairman of the National Assembly term XV, term 2021-2026.

The Chairman of the National Assembly is a position elected by the National Assembly from among National Assembly deputies, therefore, the process of dismissing Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from the position of Chairman of the National Assembly will be conducted by the National Assembly.
Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was born in 1957, from Nghe An. He is a professor and PhD in Economics.
He was a member of the Central Committee for four terms (X, XI, XII, XIII); Member of the Politburo term XII, XIII; Delegates of the 13th, 14th and 15th National Assembly.
After 22 years working at Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting (now the Academy of Finance), Mr. Hue was then appointed Deputy State Auditor General and then State Auditor General in 2006.
He held the position of Minister of Finance from August 2011, and in December 2012 was assigned as Head of the Central Economic Commission (cum-Minister of Finance until May 2013). Since April 2016, he has been Deputy Prime Minister.
Four years later, Mr. Hue was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, then was approved by the National Assembly to be dismissed from the position of Deputy Prime Minister.
At the last session of the 14th National Assembly (March 2021), Mr. Hue was elected Chairman of the National Assembly. Three months later, at the first session of the 15th National Assembly, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was re-elected Chairman of the 15th National Assembly.
