Arrested a group of reporters and collaborators to steal money from businesses in Da Nang

On April 26, Hoa Vang District Police (Da Nang) temporarily detained 2 reporters and 1 permanent collaborator in Da Nang to investigate the act of “property appropriation”.

These people include VBD (35 years old, residing in Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district; T.Đ.T (35 years old, residing in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district) and HTPH (43 years old, residing in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district.

Accordingly, through the investigation of the situation, the Criminal Police Team of Hoa Vang District Police discovered that a number of subjects claiming to be journalists, reporters, and collaborators contacted a business owner located in a prestigious area. raped and threatened to publish articles related to violations in this enterprise’s business activities for the purpose of confiscating property.

Verifying information, the police determined that around April 2024, this group of reporters and collaborators discovered during their operation that an enterprise had committed violations in transporting soil and sand at projects. under construction on site.

After that, the subjects discussed, agreed, and repeatedly called and threatened, forcing the business owner to give money or else they would write articles to publish the violations. Faced with the above threat, this business owner agreed to give the subjects 100 million VND; In addition, each subject must also sign a propaganda contract worth 20 million VND.

In addition to criminally detaining the subjects, the police also temporarily confiscated evidence including 180 million VND, 1 car, 1 motorbike, 5 mobile phones and related documents.

Hoa Vang district police are continuing to consolidate records and documents, expanding investigation to clarify the case.
