Nguyen Hoang Long – new Guinness record in world table tennis

Nguyen Hoang Long, also known by the nickname “Ti Long” in the table tennis world. He is the youngest coach ever to coach athletes from 26 different countries, a remarkable second world record. Nguyen Hoang Long created history when he became the first Vietnamese person to break the Guinness World Record. With a table tennis shot with a speed of up to 195km/h on September 21, 2023, he set a new record.

“Ti Long’s” career is not only limited to competing, but also spreads through training. This not only shows his talent but is also an inspiration for many people inside and outside the table tennis sports world. Ti Long Club’s achievements today cannot help but include the contributions of the Board of Directors including Mr. Tang Tri Hung, Mr. Nguyen Anh Phong, Mr. La Minh Luan, Ms. Le Thi Hong Yen, Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai, Mr. Nguyen Van Quan and the coaches have provided great support in organizing movement development tournaments and efforts to break Guinness World Records.

Nguyen Hoang Long shared that he came to table tennis at the age of 7 because his family wanted him to play the sport for health and his main purpose was to learn. Even though he only plays 2-3 times a week, Long has achieved many high achievements at the National Youth Table Tennis Tournament for many years in a row. The year he passed the entrance exam to Ho Chi Minh City National University and was selected by Ho Chi Minh City Table Tennis to join the Chinese training team, he won a bronze medal at the National Sports Festival and was also the turning point that helped him join the Chinese team. with professional table tennis.

Later, continuing to train in China and training with teams of athletes from Japan, South Korea, North Korea… helped him accumulate more experience and be awarded the national table tennis champion. After graduating with a Bachelor of Economics – Law and suffering many injuries and his family working at a table tennis club, Nguyen Hoang Long asked to quit playing early, when he was only 24 years old, and switched to being a coach. Long has been part of the Ho Chi Minh City coaching staff for 2 years and has contributed to training many high-achieving athletes for Ho Chi Minh City for many years.

In 2020, Long decided to quit being a coach in Ho Chi Minh City to return to manage his family’s club and build his own Youtube channel. Nguyen Hoang Long’s sharing of knowledge and experience through the Youtube channel not only helps spread the passion for table tennis, but also contributes to improving the level of table tennis playing at the international level. This proves that no matter how his role changes, his love and dedication to table tennis is always strong and deep.

Nguyen Hoang Long is also the first Vietnamese coach to have the opportunity to be invited to India to share his knowledge and skills. Not only that, he also holds the world record for the fastest table tennis shot. An achievement that proves the top reflex speed and technique that Hoang Long has trained over many years.

During his trip to New Zealand, he participated in training and skill development courses for athletes here. Contribute to improving the quality and performance of competition in international tournaments.
