The 2024 Asian futsal tournament taking place in Thailand is entering the final matches. The tournament has determined 4 teams to enter the semi-finals and win tickets to the 2024 Futsal World Cup: Thailand, Tajikistan, Iran and Uzbekistan.

The Vietnamese futsal team was forced to find tickets in the play-off round after losing 1-2 to Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals held on the evening of April 24.

Leaving behind sadness, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team returned to practice today (April 25) to prepare for the first play-off match against Kyrgyzstan, the team lost 1-6 to Iran in the fourth quarter-final. 2.

In the morning, the Vietnamese futsal team had nearly an hour of recovery practice at the gym, then played relaxing table tennis.

In the afternoon, the whole team went out to practice tactics for an hour. Before entering the tactical instruction, coach Diego Giustozzi spent time encouraging his students.

“I know you are sad about losing to Uzbekistan. But let’s be proud of doing our best, playing a good match. Let’s forget the score of the match but remember the tactics, the style of play, the performance yourself in that match.

If you can do that in the next two play-off matches, I believe we will have a great chance to win tickets to the 2024 Futsal World Cup,” the Argentine coach shared.

In this training session, coach Diego Giustozzi gave his students some additional instructions on attacking and finishing on goal. Especially fixed situations from corner kicks, direct free kicks or boundary kicks.

If they win against Kyrgyzstan (ranked 49th in the world), the Vietnam futsal team (ranked 41st in the world) will enter the final play-off match on April 28 to find tickets to the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

However, this is not easy. Because Kyrgyzstan defeated defending champion Japan 3-2 in the group stage of the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship, thereby causing this 16th-ranked team in the world to be eliminated early.

Evaluating Kyrgyzstan, coach Diego Giustozzi said: “They are a strong team, very good team play, high experience and bravery. This tournament format is very complex. All teams have a determined spirit. Big win. Their physical strength is very durable. They attack well, defend well.”
