In the first half, the Vietnamese futsal team entered the game with a proactive attitude. They pressured the opponent to return to their home field. However, coach Diego Giustozzi’s team encountered many difficulties before the Kyrgyz player’s large physique.

Therefore, despite holding a lot of the ball, the Vietnamese futsal team still did not have too many dangerous opportunities. They even let Kyrgyzstan surprise them by scoring first. Captain Alimov stole the ball and counterattacked quickly. Even though the pass was blocked by Thinh Phat, Alimov was still able to score in the 9th minute to open the score.

Having conceded a goal, the Vietnamese futsal team tried even harder to play offensively. After many efforts, they equalized in the 13th minute after Manh Hung’s left kick. During the remaining time of the first half, the Vietnamese futsal team played with more ease and had more opportunities.

The most unfortunate miss belonged to Dao Minh Quang when he could not defeat goalkeeper Akmataliev in a face-to-face situation. In the second half, difficult developments appeared again for coach Giustozzi’s army. Attacking ineffectively, they allowed Kyrgyzstan one more time to advance in the 24th minute. A simple but coordinated combination opened up space for Makhmadaminov to finish the ball past Ho Van Y.

In the last 6 minutes, coach Diego Giustozzi went all in using the power-play strategy. This way of playing is both effective but also brings harshness to the Vietnamese futsal team. That’s because power-play gave them a lot of space and Manh Hung scored the equalizer 2-2 in the 38th minute.

But after that, the Vietnamese futsal team still kept this style of play and let Talaibekov put the ball into the empty net, sealing a 3-2 victory for Kyrgyzstan. This defeat made Vietnamese futsal disillusioned for the third consecutive time participating in the futsal World Cup. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan will compete for the final Asian ticket against Afghanistan.
