Review Uruguay vs Korea
Uruguay won the last 4 matches of the qualifying round to win tickets to Qatar. The playing style of the South American representative became variable and unpredictable with two diagrams 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 being applied flexibly.
That rise of course has no small contribution of experienced players. Besides, Valverde, Bentacur or Valverde are also growing up.
On all three lines, the Uruguayan elements are in good form. But their attack is formidable, with 4 extremely quality options Luis Suarez, Darwin Nunez, Edinson Cavani and Maxi Gomez.
Entering the 2022 World Cup, Uruguay received little attention from the media. For Diego Alonso’s teachers and students, that can be seen as an advantage because they are not under pressure of achievement.
On the opening day, Uruguay was rated higher than South Korea through a 3/4 handicap (one half). Obviously, the East Asian team cannot compare with the opponent in terms of personnel quality.
Korea’s biggest star, Son Heung-min, has not been in the best shape since surgery to crack his cheekbone earlier this month.
In terms of form, Uruguay is also better, winning the last 7/9 matches. At the World Cup arena, South American representatives all left a good impression in Brazil in 2014 and Russia four years ago.
Korea has only won 1/9 of the recent matches at the World Cups, it is difficult to surprise an old and brave Uruguay.
