On March 19, the leader of the People’s Committee of Meo Vac district (Ha Giang province) said that in the area where the incident had just happened, a British tourist was injured while climbing out of the cliff “virtual living” in Pai Lung commune. .
Accordingly, on the afternoon of March 17, at the “virtual living” or “death rock” cliff in the territory of Xeo Sa Lung village, Pai Lung commune, Meo Vac district, a male tourist with British nationality, in when climbing to the cliff to take pictures, he was hit by an avalanche from above. The victim fell and injured his left leg.

After receiving the information, the commune police and medical staff at the Pai Lung Commune Health Station were present at the scene and gave first aid to the victim. The commune health station then contacted Meo Vac District General Hospital to mobilize vehicles and transfer the male victim to Ha Giang Provincial General Hospital to check the status of injuries.
According to local leaders, the location of the “virtual living” cliff, “the cliff of death” is a dangerous place, there are many large rocks, stacked but uncertain. The cliffs where tourists often stand to take pictures have a smooth surface without guardrails, which is very easy to slip and fall.

To ensure the safety of visitors, the government of Meo Vac district, Pai Lung commune has regularly propagated tourists not to climb or climb out of the cliff to take pictures. Even the authorities have put up a warning sign of danger, set up a fence to block the entrance to this cliff.
Currently, the People’s Committee of Pai Lung commune has mobilized the family of Mr. Sung Mi Say, the owner of the land with the “virtual living” cliff, to strengthen the management, not to let visitors in and out of this area take pictures.
Before that, in January 2021, a group of backpackers also climbed up to take photos at the “death” cliff area of Pai Lung, then one of the group slipped and fell from the cliff into the ravine, injuring himself.
